Clive Jones, MBE!

The New Year’s Honours List for 2026 includes a name very familiar to Shropshire Masons and especially to those who are members of St Mary’s lodge.

Past Master Clive Jones is being made a Member of the Order of the British Empire for his inspirational work on behalf of Blind Archery (which he has pursued since 2001). Perhaps just as praiseworthy (but less generally known) is the superb work Clive has performed as a fund raiser for Freemasonry - most recently with the St Mary’s “Santa’s Workshop” which raised comfortably over £1000 for the 2030 Festival.

We would like to point out here that there is no direct link between Clive’s archery and the means he uses to persuade others to donate!!!
